Anti-Climatic Birthday

So turning the big 30 this year was very anti climatic. I have planned numerous surprises for many others to celebrate this milestone. Mine. . .very boring. I found the only person who really cared was my wonderful husband who TRIED to surprise me and take me on a trip. Well, he got a little nervous and so he told me he was taking me "somewhere". So I said "ok well don't tell me where because I want to be surprised when we get to the airport." So he didn't tell me. So my birthday started out with Liv waking me up at the crack of dawn to tell me it was my birthday. Then Trent let me sleep in. (yeah) Then when I finally got up, I had to get me and the kids ready to go to Lauren's blessing. We went to that and then went to Marilyn's for the luncheon. Trent's aunt gave me a card that said "Have fun on your trip to San Francisco"! So the surprise was ruined. Oh well, she didn't know it was a surprise. Then I thought, well maybe my friends and family will surprise me later today. The day went on, and on, and on. We decided to go to my moms and pick up my birthday cards. No surprise there. Then I thought, ok it will be tonight when I get home. Nope, no surprise there. I guess I shouldn't have expected anything. So, now I will just look forward to flying out tomorrow morning to San Fran and just have my own little pity party.

Can you think of any?

1. As a comment on my blog, leave a memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you know me a little or a lot, anything you remember. If we're only blogging friends write about a post that is most memorable.

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll be sure to write one about you....either on your blog, in my comment box, or I will email you one back.

3. If the memory happens to involve my husband, please include him.

4. If you can't say something nice, don't say nothin' at all.

Happy Anniversary!

This year we celebrated our 8th anniversary. (July 15th) Wow it's been a long time together. We actually started dating in high school, so that would be 1995. Now THAT is a long time! And we haven't killed each other yet!:) For our anniversary we were pretty lame. We went and got pedicures (yes my husband got a pedicure and boy did he need one!), then we decided to go see a movie since we had free passes. We also had free tickets for popcorn and drinks. When they handed us the popcorn, I felt like Mike Myers in So I Married an Ax Murderer "I think I ordered the LARGE popcorn" After that it was hard to find a place to eat that was open. So we decided to go to Joe's Crab Shack. When we were seated, I about barfed my guts out because of the smell. Seafood is not my favorite. So we ordered appetizers and ate as fast as we could and ran! When we were done with dinner, we didn't want to go home because it was only 10pm. So being as lame as we are, we went to Walmart and walked around. We bought a 3 hole punch and a crayon box. Exciting huh! That was the end of our lame anniversary.

Happy Fourth of July!

For the July festivities, we went down to the cabin on July 3rd. We stayed at Grandma Sheila's for the night. The Johnsons came down with us and stayed the night. The boys liked playing tractors in the dirt while Liv went and hunted lizards. The nights' sleep was absolutely horrible. We got Ethan to sleep, then made the mistake of going into his room and trying to open his window. Then Landon and Carter were screaming for hours. Kelly and Christy decided to drive around with them to get them to fall alseep. I ended up with both kids in bed with me and Trent slept in the day bed by himself. (Lucky him). I spent the rest of the night trying to keep Ethan from falling off the bed. Landon woke up later in the night and poor Kelly had to take him outside and swing him to sleep. Then we woke up to Ethan falling off the bed. We later went down to the parade. We had a great time and the kids got a ton of candy. Ethan really liked the fire trucks and the horses. Landon and Carter really didn't care much for the parade, but oh well. We got lucky and were somewhat under the shade of a tree. We ended the day by coming home and BBQ'ing and lighting fireworks with the friends. We had a great day!

The Talent Show

So as many of you know, my husband is not the shy type. When the MC for his company's talent show bailed out on them, Trent was volunteered to MC. He was really excited because he loves doing stuff like that. They told Trent to go rent a tux. So, to make it more fun, he went and rented the most obnoxious tux he could find. Here is the result. . .

New Addition

She is finally here! After MANY years of waiting, we finally got baby Lauren here. This is baby Lauren, daughter of Ryan and Teri Devey (Trent's brother). I remember Teri trying to get pregnant at the same time I was pregnant with Alivia (who is now 5). What a miracle it is to finally meet her and hold her. We can't believe she is now here. We are so excited for Ryan and Teri to be parents and experience the wonder of having a baby. We are so excited for them to experience a whole new life. This little girl is one special little angel and we already love her to death! Ryan and Teri are the most deserving people to be able to have little Lauren and raise her. They are going to be wonderful parents to her. They deserve all the happiness in the world!
